| Is it common to gain weight at the start of wiifit training? - 1/26/2010 1:17:53 PM |
| Q: |
Got the Wii Fit on saturday, and on the sunday I'd lost a pound which was quite pleased about. But on monday and tuesday I've found I've gained weight. Is this common? Like gaining muscle or your body just retaining more water or something? I'm eating a little better than I did before I got the wii fit, and pretty much did no exercise before so I'm getting fitter, but fatter aswell >:[ HELP!
Thanks x

It is common for you to gain weight when working out and there can be a number of reasons why. If weighing yourself everyday you have to really think about how much water you have drank or what you have eaten. For example, drinking water is healthy but if you drink a bottle of water and then hop on a scale, you will weigh a pound more because that water is now in your stomach.
Another reason you will weigh more is due to muscle gain. Depending on how you are working out, you will gain muscle and muscle weighs twice as much as fat. This will level out though as you continue to work out and you will start to see the pounds come off.
An easy way to get your true weight and to track your losses or gains is to weigh yourself once a week. Perhaps every Monday morning, first thing when you get up. That is the easiest way to tell if you truly are losing weight or not. If you want to weigh yourself more often, simply do it at the same time everyday. Like I said before, first thing in the morning, after you go to the bathroom, but before you eat or drink anything.
Try not to worry about your weight at first. Work out, eat right, and keep it up for a while. You will feel better and have more energy. And as long as you don't stop, the weight will come off. |

| How do you delete a Wiifit profile without knowing the password.? - 1/14/2010 1:56:32 PM |
| Q: |
ERRRRRR! Im ticked off because i dont know the password to ANY of the wiifit profiles(including mine) and nobody else knows theres either. Does anyone know how to reset the game or ANYTHING??!! Cheats, Codes, I DONT CARE!! I NEED HELPP!

The only way is to call Nintendo and reset the system. They give you a master password to override the password on the console and then you can format your system, but you lose ALL of your data in the process. You can call and ask them though is there is a way to just reset the passwords on the game, they should be able to tell you something. Just find the number on Nintendo's website. |

| How many calories are burned wiifit jogging? - 3/3/2009 10:29:14 AM |
| Q: |
I am 5'2
and about 105 lb
how many calories would i burn if I did wiifit jogging for 1/2 an hour
It say my distance covered is about 8000m

The only way to know is if you buy a (constantly monitoring) Heart Rate Monitor that also counts calories - even then it's only an estimate. |

| Can I put something under my wiifit balance board to make step more challenging? - 10/18/2008 7:58:10 PM |
| Q: |
I've mastered basic and advanced step on my wiifit, but want more! I think they should make risers for the balance board for this, what do y'all think?
|
| A: |
This is pretty dangerous, but I had my friend move it around the floor so I had to be faster than him. It was challenging, but it is extremely dangerous. |

| What's your overall opinion of the Wii Balance Board and WiiFit? - 9/17/2008 2:59:19 PM |
| Q: |
I'm thinking about getting the balance board and WiiFit, but I'm not sure if it would be a good deal. For those of you that bought it:
Is it fun?
Does it work?
Is it worth the money?
Does it have mulitple uses?
|
| A: |
Is it fun?
Yes and no. It's not as much fun as the good "pure games" out there, like Mario Kart, Boom Blox, Resident Evil 4. Not even close, in fact. If fun is your primary motivation, you can purchase a lot more fun for $90.
That said, it's more fun than exercise in my living room has ever been before, and I'm a fan.
It works. I gained back 4 pounds in muscle after a major injury. The motivational factor is high, the controls are responsive, what mini gameplay exists is solid, and the things that are measured (body weight and where you have your weight shifted for various exercises and test) are measured accurately.
It does NOT turn you into a greek statue. You won't look like a male or female model, and it doesn't take the place of heavy exercise. It's light exercise, and it's good light exercise that's convenient and fun, but that's all it is.
It's worth the money. For me, "light exercise that's convenient and fun in my living room" with a fitness tracker and a bathroom scale all rolled up in one is WORTH it. No questions about it. For my soccer-playing boyfriend who's in the gym or on the field up to 15 hours a week in season, it's not worth it. He's buff enough, and the game play alone isn't fun enough to get him off the couch.
Does the balance board have multiple uses? No, not yet. Not really. You could say yes, but only on a technicality. There are a few games out for the wii balance board and more to come, but as it stands now, most people are buying it for the Wii Fit and adding the other balance board games as an afterthought. No other highly-rated balance board game is out yet.
As for Wii Fit itself, I suppose it has a limited range of uses. I used it as a fitness tool and motivator before a major trauma, and used it as physical therapy a month after my pelvic bone was broken. It was fantastic rehab. One person could use it for relaxing yoga, one could use it to build muscle, and a third could go crazy with the aerobics and weight tracker to lose weight. In reality, though, it's a "light exercise machine that's convenient and fun," and that's all it does. Ever. |

| WiiFit???????? - 7/14/2008 7:07:19 AM |
| Q: |
Where can I find a WiiFit?? Btw. Where can I find one where they're really really cheap??
|
| A: |
You can run around till you are crazy, but I would suggest calling Target, Walmart or Best Buy. E-bay is also an option, but I personally think that is risky. My son happened upon some at Best Buy one day. It was $96 (with tax). I love it. It is sooooo much fun. Happy Hunting. |
